We pick up regulated waste (hazardous waste, regulated medical waste). It's hard to make that sexy, but they do a pretty good job at it. Regulatory minutia is cumbersome but that's the industry. So much is going on with IT that they all seem confused. Lots of mergers so lots of interesting ...architecture.

No room to advance. They use safety and production bonuses to motivate employees but will take them away for any reason they see fit even if you had nothing to do with a mistake that was made if they cant figure out who made it they will take away the bonus from everyone. They work you to death and force you to work overtime even if they didn't warn you about it until the end of your shift and if you refuse you will be written up and have your bonus taken. I had a bonus taken by mistake and the manager told me "theres nothing I can do about it". The pay is terrible for the hazards you are dealing with. They pretend to care about safety so much but force you to go beyond the restrictions of the safety guidelines all the time.
