      Pros

      Sharp people throughout the office and the department, from MDs to analysts. The department as a whole leads the league table in quantity of deals. The Chicago office leads fewer, but larger, deals on average. Excellent learning experience, good exposure to city and state governments. Tangentially socially impactful work.

      Cons

      Pay is below market, but could improve if interest rates fall, in the case that total transaction volume increases.

      Pros

      I felt like the culture was a nice amount of cordialness and friendliness. It's corporate and it has it's nuances but the people were mostly good vibes and the managers seem to care and show empathy. They do preach family first but maintain that you have to catch up and stay on top of work.

      Cons

      I felt they lacked in the insurance benefits as premiums were high and coverage was not that great compared to competitors. 30 minute lunches enough said. There was some toxicity of throwing people under the bus, but it's corporate and that is normal.
