      I love my job!!!

      Pros

      I have worked in the mental health field for a while and I have always appreciated my field of choice, but did not always feel appreciated by the company I worked for. It is really nice to work for a company that is willing to invest just as much time and money in their employees and as they are other things. They truly believe in providing the best services to the community and population served and understand that "you get in what you put out" and constantly engage employees in training and other tools that are used to sharpen the skills needed in the field. They also assist with the licensure process and provide FREE supervision...which says a lot alone. They also assisted with the relocation costs when I accepted the position. Everyone here is so nice and we all help one another out. If you haven't noticed...I LOVE MY JOB AND STA!!!

      Cons

      There aren't many downsides to working with STA (not that I have encountered anyway). If I had to choose one, it would be the constant changes that Medicaid is making, which tends to trickle down and affect counselors directly.

      Working helping others can provide some satisfaction.

      Cons

      You realize that this is just another same agency with the same current issues. High turnover. Burned out staff. Questionable directives to follow that you know deep down... Weak salary and benefits that make stressful work even harder.

Working in a field helping people solve long standing problems is difficult and requires extraordinary stamina. Our goal in clinical supervision is to give directives and interventions that will move clients to make positives change that haven't been brought about by conventional interventions. When such interventions are implemented successfully, it can really energize the clinician as well! We really do hope you have found a place that you can help people, and one in which you feel energy, excitement and joy when you go to work.

      It wasn't great but it's experience

      If past paperwork wasn't done when an employee left, they expected the counselors to "forge" paperwork so they could get paid for that client. Always understaffed and have to work with more clients then expected.
