      Pros

      - Great compensation and benefits package - Really smart and hard-working co-workers - Interesting product

      Cons

      - Most political place I've ever worked - Had colleagues take credit for work I had done and heard this happen frequently to others as well - Witnessed folks constantly shirking responsibility and trying to avoid accountability for poor customer outcomes. - Really poor management and a ruthless performance management/PIP culture that seemingly comes down to politics and popularity more than skill or output

      Comp is decent, a lot of smart people. Good banner for the resume

      Cons

      Avg stripe employee tenure is 1.5 yrs. So you get the picture. Constant firedrills changing product strategy

      Pros

      They pay well and have pretty flexible, remote policy if you’re 35+ miles from the nearest office; still a private company with very little urgency to go public likely because of a very high valuation and they’re able to give tender offers the past few years.

      Cons

      Culture is like a crabs-in-the-barrel mentality, and people don’t care who they step on to get ahead, likely because so many people are burned out in the increasingly tightening no mistakes environment (rule by fear of getting cut). No transparent titles, which causes a bit of confusion.
