Pros

Good for learning some of the basics. Enjoyed the company of my coworkers. Appreciated the overall mission objective.

Cons

Very limited in growth opportunity. Pay is subpar, and raises do not come easy, especially with how much work you are expected to do. No real work life balance, feels mostly like all work, no life.

Pros

-great training -talented, dedicated co-workers -good intentionality

Cons

-de-professionalizes art education -replaces permanent, certified art teachers with contract “teaching artists” -performs zero lobbying to restore arts funding directly to public schools -diverts government aid which should be used to hire permanent art teachers -exploits vulnerable art workers by offering highly skilled yet contigent work -offers zero opportunities for pay advancement to teaching artists -owns intellectual rights to the resources and artifacts created by teaching artists -offers little consistency in scheduling or guarantee of contract hours -few transferable skills -ZERO retirement
