Pros

Suffolk Construction is a large construction company with many resources and they try their best to use the most modern construction tools available. Most of the employees at Suffolk are hard-working and talented. The people are very fun to work with.

Cons

Suffolk does a poor job at evaluating younger talent. During my tenure at Suffolk, I saw a multitude of talented employees under 40 leave the company. Frequently, these employees will get slammed with a ton of work because the company is top-heavy. The upper management delegates and the mid-lower level employees are left with a workload that cannot be completed in time. Suffolk also attempts to be a technology-forward company. Still, they fail to have career paths for employees who know how to use the most modern construction tech such as Revit, Navisworks, Autocad etc. Employees will get no benefit from learning how to utilize modern construction techniques and will get passed over for raises. Another downside to Suffolk is that new hires get compensated more than loyal long-term employees at Suffolk.
