Every employee in branch is so genuinely kind. There is a lot of communication regarding your growth and where you see yourself going within the company, they are always looking to promote from within before looking outside of the credit union.
Cons
I’ve had jobs with better health insurance, retirement, and sales commissions, but the culture at those places also weren't as good as it was at SFCU.
-Good member focused mission and staff that is enjoyable to work with. -Nice benefits including a pension for long time employees. -Management is very committed to the credit union and most are long time employees.
Cons
-They were excessive on their COVID response likely since decision were being made by older members of management. -Non-jabbed employees were required to wear masks for many months after everyone else was allowed to take them off. They were very quick to say any employees that were un-jabbed would be fired until the OSHA rule got overturned. It was not indicated that any exemptions would be granted or considered. -Pay is average to above average for credit unions but below average for the overall industry. -You are able to climb the ladder but it would take an entire 20-30 year career there to get to VP level. -The new ITM only member experience has not been very well received by the membership. Older members do not want to use a machine, young members wonder why they wasted their time coming to a branch if they have to talk to a machine anyway.
