      Pros

      Decent work/life balance. Amiable coworkers. Clean bathrooms.

      Cons

      Place is run like a sorority with rampant favoritism. Senior management has allowed this to carry on for years on end. Whether you languished or succeeded was, again, predetermined. Opportunities to advance were cut off at the pass, literally. So we can add unethical to the list as well.

      Pros

      decent work/life balance, good benefits. co-workers, for the most part, are nice people to work with. nice large campus with lots of amenitities.

      Cons

      layoffs. no job security; constant reorganization; always being asked to do more with no increase in pay. management stuck on making their numbers, not caring how it gets done

      work life balance is the main thing - just about everyone is on the same wavelength about this, so it doesn't seem to vary that much by department

      Cons

      once you hit mid career, opportunities for advancement evaporate if you're at all ambitious, you'll have one foot out the door
