very nice support office in Fort Mill with free drinks

Cons

Outside senior team from Advanced Auto has changed the culture for the negative. Its a let's protect all the managers/directors/VP culture so we can sit in meetings all day and do no work. The people that are actually putting in the work are getting let go or being treated very poorly. CEO had to get a $14 million raise, and they had to hold a big party in Nashville for managers above to drink and party for a week. Meanwhile, bonuses and OT have been cut for the backbone of the company.

Pros

Free use of equipment to take home for personal use, access to wholesale used equipment before available to public, great veteran onboarding program, Union benefits are very competitive, effort at some branches to provide the proper tools and ppe for work. A place to get some time under your belt in the rental industry.

Cons

Lack of experience in management can lead to frustration in day to day operation, older equipment, very much an "in" crowd that can hamper career advancement, safety heavily pushed unless it works against business operations. Lowest paying rental house locally makes retaining employees difficult. Cameras, GPS, and all kinds of sensors in trucks, in house driver rating system that can lead to disciplinary actions or termination.

Great company vehicle, no telematics.

Cons

Some of the worst nepotism I have ever seen. Most specialty divisions in my city are family members of one person after experienced employees were pushed out. Constantly changing goalposts. Once you hit a decent commission, your territory is cut.
