Pros

Pays well, growing company, company vehicle for managers

Cons

Human Resources is horrific, if you are non-union you will be terminated without cause. Diversity is not part of the NY Metro area, very few minorities have reached the better positions. Corporate/Support Office does not hold mid level managers accountable and there are zero opportunities to rate your managers. Fraud and favoritism are rampant.

Pros

Well-run corporate entity. In my opinion, the BEST in the top Rental Companies today. I've worked for United Rentals, RSC Equipment (acquired by UR) and a smaller company that Sunbelt acquired called Atlas Sales and Rentals-The Portable Cooling Specialists. Great growth potential. Variety of avenues (ie, divisions) you can select from and WORK TOWARDS. Sunbelt demands alot from its employees...managers (called PCM's or 'Profit Center Managers'), technicians, Equipment Rental Specialists, drivers, etc. However, in exchange for those high demands comes a wonderful safety-driven organization protecting its employees with the utmost attention and procedures in place, excellent benefits package and a World Class 'Support Center'...the culture is great in that we are forbidden from calling our 'Corporate Headquarters' a 'Corporate Headquarters'...they are viewed as the 'Support Center'...an amazing change in mindset I've never experienced but makes much sense and it shows with the great support.

Cons

Can experience long hour workdays and, due to the nature of the Climate Control Division, 'YES' we are a division that deals in the EMERGENCY business. I see many negative reviews from former (and even current employees) but PLEASE PEOPLE...know what you've signed up for. I'm a Sales Engineer and even last night I was out of technicians who could respond to an I/T Server from that lost A/C...We had to respond. I arrived after surveying the incident as I'm trained for, went to the branch, loaded the A/C, delivered and assisted the customer in installing. I will be going out there again at 10am to probably rent more a/c as the situation is even more dire. That's WHAT WE DO! Only other CON would be, although we have some great I/T Infrastructure, the HelpDesk at times can take a bit too long to get some issues resolved. Lastly, and probably the most important, is I really thing the training (in my division at least) should be improved.
