      Good place to earn experience

      Pros

      I've learned a lot about being a security guard the past couple months that I've been employed. Started as part time in traffic and then was moved to full time as security guard in my first month. Pays well if you're willing to put in the hours for overtime. I want to become a police officer and find that everything I've learned can transfer to that field.

      Cons

      Being a security officer can be demanding for some. If you don't mind standing for hours, being in the sun for hours (for traffic control), talking to people, dealing with rude people, it could be a bit unpleasant.

      Pros

      The Managers care about their employees. Full Time Officers are offered benefits. The Corporate staff is available to assist whenever there is an issue (pay, benefits, HR).

      Cons

      It's contract based so you don't just get a raise whenever you want, everything is determined by the terms of the contract.
