Pros

The owners and corporate leadership have created a great company structure and environment that drives their team to succeed. I have been managing in the contract security industry for nearly a decade, and in my first couple of months with Sunstates I have spent more time with my clients and officers than I would have in a year with another company. They keep our portfolios small so we build relationships with our people and focus on offering our clients the highest quality service. I was considering leaving the industry all together until I started at Sunstates; now I am looking forward to many more years managing for them in contract security, and recruiting as many of my friends as I can to come work with me again.

Cons

At this point I have no complaints about Sunstates, I get full corporate support, we partner with great clients who work with us, and they afford me a lot of time and resources to make sure my officers are taken care of and appreciated.

Not concerned about safety!

A little higher pay than average.

Cons

They arent concerned with safety. They allowed a supervisor to lock an exit to a college dorm with chains but did nothing about it. They allowed supervisors torment, call names, sleep on the job, leave the property while on duty. Without any reprocussions but if you were honest, and turned them in, you are seen as the problem. Very unprofessional atmosphere and hostile work environment. Theres no accountability.

There is always work if you're available.

Cons

-Once you turn down an extra post, they never call you again to cover another post. -They don't care about their employee's needs - The health care offered is the worst I have seen yet -Dental and vision plans are not excepted anywhere, so good luck trying to find a provider -If you have an emergency, especially a medical one, you will find no help or support from management -You have to have a backbone in order to deal with management
