Pros

- Job stability. - Growing company.

Cons

- You have to fight to get a free breakfast roll in the morning (one of the few perks) because the company does not get nearly enough for everyone. - Some of the facilities are run down. - Firing is rare, so that leads to some people feeling too secure in their job and not doing their job and/or not treating other employees well. - Strict work schedule even for salaried employees.

Pros

Job stability and some good coworkers.

Cons

Many managers are incompetent. They are not good at their job, lack communication skills, or both. These are just a few to name. Some managers aren’t trained or know how to handle problems. They think the problem will go away if they ignore it. They got the job because they have been here a long time or because they know the right people. Being Taiwanese and a Mandarin speaker are big advantages. Promotions should not be based on seniority and kissing up. There are many excellent employees who deserve the promotion. Supermicro is on a hiring spree. Some departments are over staffed. Why hire 10 average employees when you can hire five top-notch employees. Pay them a little more and treat them well. That will help reduce the high turnover rate. Hire efficiently, not excessively. Benefits need major improvements. Two weeks of vacation is a joke. No 401K matching. Improve the benefits in order to keep the good talent, so the company can compete with the best.
