Pros

They allowed for flexibility and understood last minute cancellations if you were a teacher on the on-call list. Respectful work environment. I ended up leaving because I was moving but I was given the opportunity to head a satellite centre. If you are teaching high school math or sciences then you may be in higher demand and receive 5 days of work per week even starting off.

Cons

The hours available to work were often limited to ~4 -5 hours per day. This is not Sylvan's fault as it is based on the availability of the children.

-flexible time off -good, fun coworkers -Office is clean, ok working conditions -easy to learn -flexibility in learning system -15 day annual leave

Cons

-Terrible management -Work long hours on Saturday -old textbooks that are outdated -very little room for growth in the company -can get boring after a while
