Pros
This is a great entry level job, where an employee can learn a lot provided they put in the time and effort. I found that it was an incredible experience in which I was able to see students grow and build lasting relationships with students, families and other colleagues. Additionally, I was able to gain experience outside the Education Sector.
Cons
Unfortunately, the downside simply cannot outweigh the good in the job. With where I am, there is an apparent lack of consistent communication between senior management and center staff. For the work that we do, I would say that we're substantially underpaid. The hours are long to the point of insanity, the support is lacking, and the expectations are excessive. Never mind that training is severely limited. It's no surprise that there is serious turnover in staff.
