Pros
Syngenta is filled with highly professional, highly capable people but is at the same time a very relaxed atmosphere. The internal politics is minimal and one rarely feels that they are in an unhealthy competition with others.
Cons
There tends to be a focus on the near term, often to the detriment of long term thinking. In certain areas (lower to middle management, especially), the company is under-resourced, so there simply isn't time to think strategically. There is also a drive toward more open office environments, which is often distracting and restricts employees' abilities to think and plan versus simply work on the current tactical issues.
