      Pros

      Very smart, approachable co-works. Great facilities on Site (GBJH). The overall package is good, the company cared about their researchers.

      One can experience first hand the latest IT trends, technologies. Good to learn and implement new things.

      Never ending org changes dont let you focus on the important stuff. Lots of politics in management.

      Pros

      Really good a hiring kind people and so a great culture. really good at accommodating people that think differently, especially in the R&D department. workloads much lower than other corporates I have worked out. no real consequence for not delivering on time as long as you deliver close to time A great place to make a career change from one function to another as Syngenta length of service prized over capability

      Cons

      IS is about 15- 20 years behind, syngenta constantly puts people into jobs they aren't qualified for and so there are a lot of people not doing a great job globally - R&D people in IS roles, scientists in HR and L&D roles, scientists in Comms roles. Also a lot of 'lifers' that have only worked for Syngenta or its preceding companies and so have no actual real life frame of reference - causing a lot of moaning about things most employees would be grateful for. Pay in UK well below the market rate and benefits poor compared to market. Training non existant - the POD people (L&D to everyone else) deliver less each year and promise more. training is now cheaper for functions to buy in externally then source internally.
