      Pros

      Exposure to leading edge semiconductor technologies and circuit design. Synopsys is the most financially sound EDA company, and the caliber of co-workers is high.

      Cons

      Limited career growth and below average job satisfaction due to the highly reactive nature of a career in EDA. This isn't specific to Synopsys, though. It is characteristic of the EDA industry.

      Pros

      The company has strong financials and is the market leader in most areas of the industry. They sometimes maintain this leadership through acquisitions but do a good job of integrating new companies and technologies. In general the staff is intelligent, hard working and customer focused.

      Cons

      Legacy products and bureaucratic tracking systems can make it difficult to satisfy customer requirements. The development and support teams are global, requiring many late evening meetings which can interfere with work/life balance.

      Pros

      There is no undue pressure put on by the management, and work done is duly appreciated. Co-workers are really bright and there is something new to learn almost everyday. Top management is really solid and it is a stable company.

      Cons

      Growth is slower compared to other companies. It is slowly expanding its domain through acquisitions, but comparatively slow growing.
