      Bickering Sales Management hinders customer care

      Pros

      Good intellectual challenges. Wonderful facilities. Most rank and file folks want to do their best. The hours can be very flexible and accommodating of time off when needed. Lots of opportunities to work from home which really enable more productive work hours even though I wasn't always in the office 8 hours a day. I probably average 10 hour work days and love the challenge of keeping all the balls of my personal and work life in the air.

      Cons

      Sales Management is very biased toward people who grease their palms. There are some very definite problems with some of the senior sales management motivations and I have been deeply troubled by their unchecked authority that is often wrongly used.

      Pros

      Good employees, fairness, good to very good software tools in digital design, household name in semiconductor design, fiscally conservative, good pay. A team of really experienced people who generally work well together.

      Cons

      Lack of innovation for new products - helps drive startups, lots of acquisitions to manage makes product lines and people management difficult. Few career paths for salespeople but most don't mind since the pay is good.

      * Ethical long-term management * Stable, sustainable business model - will likely grow in 2009 * Industry leadership - driver for most of the important product areas and initiatives * Ability to substantially influence the future of electronics design * Management pushes business decisions down to key stakeholders in the company - ability to play a role in critical business decisions

      Cons

      * Tightening EDA industry growth - affects all companies * Conservative business models - sometimes the most interesting ideas can't be pursued
