Flexibility of schedule, ability to write your own paycheck if you're ambitious enough and good at cold-calling and converting prospects to customers.

Cons

Recent pay cuts for sales force (can be compensated for by opening new business), benefits getting more and more expensive, increased amount of non-customer focused activities, grow or die mentality
