Pros

Good benefits package for the most part, though pay raises have been stifled for “leadership” roles while subordinates gain or surpass.

Cons

Management takes significant time to review and lake decisions that affect process as well as employee conditions. Tech resources are over booked.

Pros

Excellent benefits, especially with retirment perks. Salary is competitive, especially for the Baltimore region compensation. PTO is also bucketed to Vacation, Sick, Personal with a 5 day rollover for vacation time. Many members of the company have tenures of 10+ years, and it is easy to understand why. This organization understands that its workforce are people first, and they care about their employees.

Cons

Internal promotion is difficult. Running joke among technology is that you won't be promoted until you go somewhere else for a few years, and reapply. I think they need to improve on this model, and promote more from within rather than entirely new hires.

Pros

Most of the people are nice enough. The company provides healthy/tasty food options and incentivizes employees to eat healthier by increasing the subsidsy for those healthier items. The nature room is cool. You can meditate, listen to nature sounds, and work quietly to reduce stress. There are pockets of people who strive for excellence on the service side and a culture of excellence on the investments side.

Cons

Too much groupthink and clapping people on the back for mediocrity on the service side. It felt like if you are in the clique, you get promoted even if you have NO experience. Two ill-planned whims got the green light to become the "next big learning initiative" because the people who pitched the ideas were in the clique. T. Rowe Price says they want change and to be innovators, but low-level managers on the service side can beat the innovation out of you in favor of conformity. In my experience, this was especially true of lower-level managers who are long-timers of T. Rowe. T. Rowe "Nice" culture where it is frowned upon to challenge old paradigms and give direct critique. They seem to value the semblance of harmony over holding poor performers and mediocre performers accountable.
