Pros

After interning for just one summer at T. Rowe Price, my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt. The office is not a cutthroat environment and the upper level management makes it a point to interact with employees of all levels. In that sense, lower level employees had an idea of the direction of the company though it was unclear how much a hand they would have in it.

Cons

I found the office to be devoid of competition, which may have been due to what appeared to be a lack of advancement opportunities within the firm. There did not seem to be much room for promotion and employees seemed to be almost too content with whatever role they filled.

Pros

The young co-workers. Great place to meet new people in the low to mid 20's. Almsot like a structured College Campus. However, management is much older but they stay to themselves. If you are young and not too concerned with salary starting out, but want a job with alot of cool people to hang out with, this fits the bill.

Cons

No advancement whatsoever. If you start at the entry level and are satisfied making $30K a year for the rest of your career with minor raises, then this is the job. No different than being a teller at a bank. You will make low 30's and have job security as long as you don't get bored with the phones, and trust me, you are on the phone ALL DAY! I suspect most people move on to other Financial Firms after a few years. The draw is the "Trowe" name and it appeals to the young people and they exploit it, but the work is pretty repetitive so someones gotta do it.

Pros

Great training. If you are new to the industry it is a great place to learn and get your licensing.

Cons

Salary and career advancement are the biggest cons. The benefits are geared toward older employees yet most of the company is made up of recent college grads. No effort seems to be given to retaining talent with the firm.
