Pros

If you are in the WPB area looking for a mid-level job where the demands aren't too great then TBC/Tire Kingdom might be the place for you. Especially since there aren't a lot of large employers between Orlando and Fort Lauderdale.

Cons

If you are looking for somewhere you can learn from executive management, be part of improving how a company operates or just be part of efficient and effective business operations TBC/Tire Kingdom isn't that place. TBC gets by but has dropped the ball over and over on doing any better than getting by. There is no backbone in executive management to drive the operating units to operate together efficiently, consolidate their supply chains or upgrade key systems - they've been working on replacing the POS for over 5 years and the project is still being 'launched'. Executive management ignored or didn't want to hear just how badly the operating unit was handling their franchisee agreements even while it was common knowledge at lower levels of management. Two years after replacing the head of that group many of the problems still exist. Sumitomo should see what is going on but has so far been diverted by the smoke and mirrors presentations they get.

Pros

Overall, a good and smart group on the staff level. Complex environment; much to learn. Many challenges. Could be a fun environment.

Cons

Executive levels are insular, arbitrary, and punitive. Much lip-service given to work-life balance, training, and staff development. Reality is arbitrary sweatshop,

Pros

Promotions from within the company. New office location for IT, computer center, and consolidation of offices to new facility should be financial Good benefits if you own a vehicle with great discounts on tires, service, etc. Management does have a plan for improving services and marketing the company and if follows through this would be a good deal.

Cons

Technical people are being promoted into managerial positions but this is not necessarily the best philosophy or policy for retention of employees. Reputation in the tire and service industry needs improvement. Would question charging practices within the store locations.
