Pros
Low stress workplace as long as you're motivated and come to work ready to do work. Not a place to stand around the water cooler and collect a paycheck. Don't get me wrong. The work loads are completely reasonable. This isn't a sweatshop by any means, and there's nothing stopping you from taking a break here and there, walking down the Monon trail for a bit and coming back to the job. But you're given a queue of tasks and as long as you're putting in effort and making progress you're golden. You just have to be a self starter and can't sit on Facebook all day. You won't have anyone standing over your shoulder watching your progress, but you're responsible for your assigned tasks.
The management team does a good job of communicating the status of the company. We have an annual meeting where we get updated on the financial, business, and project statuses of TCC. We hear what projects are in the works, what we've finished in the past year, and what's upcoming.
I like the team I work with, the technologies we use, and the work I'm doing.
COVID-19: TCC leadership has been flexible and supportive of the employees during the COVID-19 outbreak. From the very beginning, they told us that if we need to work from home due to school closures, childcare issues, or to care for another person they would automatically approve it. Our office was closed for several months during the worst of it, but we continued to work from our homes and did a great job of completing our projects. They've continued to say they'll reopen fully whenever the Governor recommends AND they also feel it's appropriate.
Cons
I've been doing this professionally for almost 20 years. I've worked in good and bad shops. I've been here for 5 years and there is very little negative that I have to say about TCC. It's the only place I haven't had 401k matching, so there's that.
