Pros
Everything is fine if you learn to play the part. Tell them what they want to hear. I was there for over three years and I became very close with the sales manager. I made her interests mine. Told her what went on when she was gone. Always kept her informed.
Cons
They claim to have a flexible work schedule for the sales staff but they still micromanage. Sales management also creates a culture of distrust, nervousness, and fear. Office politics dominate. They frequently guard information and treat it as power. They are MIA when needed most, especially in times of crisis, when critical decisions need to be made. Lacking any personal accountability, they blame everyone else when something goes wrong. They are tolerant of employees who do average or subpar work as long as they suck up and try to make the bad boss look good. It’s almost like a game to them, and they toy with people as though they are puppets. They have a very high turnover.
