Pros

Great place to grow skills, bring big ideas. Female CEO Martore was hard working and treated staff well. At a corporate event, I saw her bringing food to the Security Staff and seemingly enjoying talking to them more than the C Suite staffers. Some of the corporate marketing staff are not the brightest people. HR was not very organized and my pay benefits were messed up for a while. Events were well attended and well done, good food. New incoming CEO did not seem to respect people, all about the bottom line. He does not seem like a Leader as the former female CEO ran the company.

Cons

Culture, people were operating in groups, silos, fake and gossip filled the hallways.

Good opportunity to move up in the organization.

Cons

Compensation was low for employees who work incredibly hard and very long hours. It's embarrassing how unsupportive and loyal higher management is at TEGNA. There is very little recognition, which make all of your handwork feel absolutely pointless. Favoritism is completely evident and not at all avoidable. Culture is horrific. I do not recommend this company to anyone.

Pros

Some of the best storytellers on the globe work for a Tegna Station. They truly believe in Storytelling.

Cons

Salaries are NOT commiserate with cost of living in any city. 2%3% raises (if you get one) are all they are willing to give. Feedback is almost nonexistent. Corporate and local stations are not on the same page with direction of the company. MMJ concept is very lopsided and management does not seem to care if they sink or swim. They just want the black holes between commercials. Training is almost nonexistent as well.
