I cannot speak for TEKsystems as an organization, but I can speak to the Madison, WI office. BEWARE! Leadership is truly awful. Instead of promoting people into management positions based on leadership capabilities and the aptitude to mentor and coach others, they promote purely based on producing a number. As a recruiter you will be treated as a pee-on. If you are not interested in becoming an account manager there is no other promotion option locally. Regarding hiring they only care about what you look like and not what is in your brain. They would hire a monkey if it looked great and could pick up the phone. They are also very petty and a judgmental group as a whole. It reminded me of sorority recruitment. This particular office has not seen any growth in over 20 years. There are a few people in the office that make money and the rest just continue to quit after a year or so. Attrition rate is horrible. Unlike the Account Manager position where strict territories are drawn, all recruiters compete against each other over the same pool of candidates. Since this is a commission based role it is not in the recruiters best interest to help their peers. They will give you some weird explanation on how directly competing against each other is a good thing...a lot of "drink the Kool-Aid" stuff. At times it seemed like people were "brain washed." Worst of all, despite internal rules and policies against this, a lot of the employees are sleeping with each other which can make things really weird. Especially when certain people get promoted after sleeping with a certain manager.... Overall, if you are a "cut your throat to get ahead" type or are a very money-centered individual then you might have a chance enjoying your time there and the people you work with. Just remember....mo money mo problems!

I can almost promise you, you will likely hate your life, watch your relationships with the ones you care about deteriorate, and watch the rest of your life crumble. Very smart business strategy though... they target college kids coming out of school who are eager to make a difference, use them to be grow their network, and once those who understand/figure out the scheme they are running they leave....those are the smart ones.. you will spend more time in meetings and meetings about meetings. Most of your day will be taken up with pointless and time consuming things. Then once the day is over they won't have any sympathy for you and be on you and ask "if this is the right place for you". The account managers will say you're partners but they will belittle you and make you feel as though as you're the problem. But on the contrary a lot of the account managers are going to hope you can save their job. Their supposed to bring in new business yet a lot struggle to do so, then like I said....they make you feel as though that is your fault. Overall very eye opening experience. DO NOT WORK HERE UNLESS YOU ARE ON THE VERGE OF BEING HOMELESS OR HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO OTHER OPTION. Way over worked. They will lie to you about pay. They don't tell you up front how long it will take to reach your salary. They will completely blindside you.... most account managers were pathetic. Only had 1 I actually liked. Horrible work hours. They love to entertain, lots of drinking....alcohol fueled, but that's the only way to stay sane in this company... my physical and mental health became very poor.
