-this is not necessarily a con, but you get out of it what you put into it. Sometimes that means working multiple 60+ hours weeks consecutively. -metrics are everything. Sink or swim. -even when you off work, you’re never really “off work”. If you want to be even slightly successful in this role, you will need to be available 24/7 or you WILL risk things falling apart. -not a job for those that are easily deterred/discouraged. Resiliency, motivation, multitasking, responsiveness, ability to work in obscurity, compassionate yet vicious, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a ridiculously fast paced environment are all MUST HAVE qualifications for this role if you want to succeed. -surrounded by competition, both internally and externally. Essentially, in this role you’re in a race against thousands of people, and most of the time they have a head start. -if you don’t already have a background in IT, you will mostly need to learn about/research it on your own time. -there’s and infinite amount of uncontrollable variables that can instantly derail all the work you’ve done for a day, or even for an entire quarter (potentially longer). 10000000+ ways to fail, but only 1 one way to succeed…. And it’s not the easy way and it’s changes practically every week. So figure it out and adapt.

TEKsystems was the WORST company I have ever worked for. They provide no work life balance and expect employees to sacrifice their health, mentally and physically. The work environment is so toxic with the supervisors forming their own cliques and talking about their employees in a negative light behind their back in Teams chats. They offer no support if you are struggling other than "do better" and say they will help however they can but when help is needed are no where to be found. Mental health is not cared about even when speaking to the manager in charge of the office and expressing concerns to HR. Managers tell employees they "aren't being singled out but they are being micromanaged" when employees reach out to HR to express their unhappiness and their feelings of feeling targeted in the work place. They will build up a case behind your back to fire you while telling you to your face that is not what they are doing, and then fire you on a Monday at 4:30 in the afternoon after you have done all the work to complete their payroll that they needed you to do. They will use and abuse you until you no longer meet what then need and then throw you to the curb. All around working here was the most toxic place I have ever worked all while shoving in my face how many "favors" they were doing for me and how great they thought they were treating me. DO NOT WORK HERE, especially if you are unwilling to be a suck up and conform to their ideas or suggest change.
