Waste of a great culture

Pros

Earning potential is great and TEK has one of the best recruiter training programs in the biz. In my 3rd year as a recruiter I made over $100K.

Cons

Favoritism poor leadership at the local level. It happens everywhere and sometimes you'r'e in, sometimes you're not but the most recent DBO working in the Fort Worth, TX office was one of the worst leaders I've ever been around and the people that she leaned on in the office were equally as pathetic. There are a select few that are free to do as they please and the rest are pretty much screwed. People will stab you in the back and the gossip is out of control. I had a great group of friends and a few are still there but the "leaders" were the reason so many good ones left.

Pros

Java Architects are really very good in following the agile methodology. Very good exposure to latest technologies and there is no work pressure, estimation of stories are done very wisely. Very good clients.

Cons

Lot of projects are transitioned to India after development of 4-5 months in Montreal, rest of the development is done in India. Its good for business but for developers most time we are not part of end game.

Pros

Great recruiters and managers. Support is awesome. Whole company encourages upbeat work mood. Fast, regular paychecks, decent compensation. They also have a good training materials and opportunities for mentoring. Mostly very reputable, stable customers.

Cons

Some things are "within constraints". Customer company controls many aspects of work environment. Can be long time between gigs if you're picky. Not much chance of a raise, as far as I've ever seen.
