Pros

TEKsystems invests a lot of time into training their employees. Other than that, there is nothing good to say. They say they care about their employees, but they don't. They are a 5+ billion dollar company and they still offer below than average health benefits to their employees. There was one point that the company had too much money and they had to "bleed the tires" so they gave all of the employees that were already making a ton of money a huge bonus. Nothing for anyone else and/or no changes to the health benefits. The number one thing on the bi-annual employee survey every year is better health benefits, and every year they go un-changed.

Cons

Excessive hours; Management wants to know everything about your personal life so they can use it against you; Unfair promotions; Incompetent managers; Micro management techniques that they refer to as "performance management" because they say they don't micro manage. They are so bell bent on how the company was started and the "culture" that they ignore everything else that can make the company better.

Pros

TEKsystems is more than just a job to pay the bills. It is a place to build a career. There is a direct correlation between the effort and commitment you put in, to what you will get in return. The training program is very strong and can help prepare anyone who is eager to learn to be a successful recruiter. Long term the compensation and career growth is phenominal but you definitely need to make it through the same challenge of starting building a network and learning the industry, as you would with any long term, relationship building sales position.

Cons

The staffing industry can be very challenging. You are not going to be able to help everyone, which can be very frustrating. With those who you are able to help, not all will be appreciative. This is a client-driven organization, which means that you will not be working 9am-5pm. You will need to be capable of responding to your clients or consultants when they need you, not when it is convenient for you.

Pros

Bonuses and profit sharing would make it a desirable job if you are placed in the position to succeed. You ultimately have no choice on the situation you are placed into. Most of the other same level associates are down to earth people.

Cons

Promotes false sense of employees buying into their "corporate culture". Upper management praises how beloved the company was by the employees - however, most of the lowel level grunts hated the job when I worked there in 2006. I was told that I was on the fast track to management, the carrot was dangled over my head several times until eventually being pulled out completely and they found a way to weed me out. Handed in my immediate resignation, they talked me into staying to pull more knowledge out of me and let me go. If you are smart, run the opposite way of this downtrodden beast.
