Pros
In some situations, trying on another company before you commit is nice. Using Tek for that purpose works.
Cons
The recruiters are devastatingly young and inexperienced. The several I have worked with were straight out of undergrad. SO many empty promises. Everything from, "Hey if you do us a favor and help out a new colleague on site, we'll give you a gift card." To "I'll schedule us to have lunch." And then you never ever hear back. I have been promised interview prep materials that have not come. I've had some recruiters fall off the face of the planet. There is a lack of understanding of the technical world and culture by these very green recruiters. I was FAR underpaid and I don't think Tek's INTENTION was to screw me, I just really don't think they had a good enough understanding of the client I worked for. (FYI I got hired on by my client and received a 40% pay increase, if that tells you anything.) Benefits are horrid. I've been promised
