Pros

Ample opportunity for growth and development, great team environment and very supportive. This company will give you the skills you need to go elsewhere if you decide to do so, I had a tremendous experience there.

Cons

You have to be extremely adaptable, which isn’t necessarily a con. But just something you need to understand.

Too much AI use among leadership.

Pros

Flexible, casual dress code, competitive pay for managers.

Cons

Non competitive pay for entry level folks, dumb and conflicting rules for different teams, AI becoming the default for handling situations which is not akin to the core values.

Pros

There are 2 things that are great about TEKsystems Canada. The competitive environment that you work in truly does push your productivity to a new level. At the start of your career you will see the opportunity and chase it. The next part that I like about TEKsystems is the opportunity to make money, which is what keeps most people around even though they dislike working there. The people here are great, they are fun to work with, and are supportive for the most part (excluding some managers). It's a great place to learn the industry, but most people choose to leave after 2-3 years because there are better companies out there doing the same thing.

Cons

TEKsystems conducts an internal survey every year to see how their employees are doing, and they actually share the survey results with everyone (which is surprising). The survey touches on 20 different categories of employee satisfaction, and they separate the answers from employees into 3 different categories of tenure (1-3 years, 3-6 years, 7+ years). The responses are colour coded as a scale of blue to red, in which blue is overly positive scores, and red is dissatisfied/negative scores. In the results, across 20 categories, employees of 1-3 years are extremely happy, but as you move through the responses you see a trend that the longer someone is there, the more unhappy they become. Every single response from the 7+ years group is extremely dissatisfied in all 20 categories except for pay, where they are only moderately dissatisfied. The company in the 5 years I was there made 3 different pay scale "adjustments" meaning that they reduced our commission and made it harder to succeed. They are not transparent around the reason why either. In the short term it is fun, but eventually you are locked into golden handcuffs and you can't leave. There are a few really good directors and managers, but overall the Director in Canada is extremely unaware to how he comes across and cannot hold himself responsible for the damage he does to his team. This has a rippling effect across all of Canada to other managers and directors, which turns great managers into bad managers - further influencing their survey results in the negative direction for senior team members. Until management changes their approach, or themselves, the TEKsystems Canada will continue to flounder.
