Pros

Bonuses and profit sharing would make it a desirable job if you are placed in the position to succeed. You ultimately have no choice on the situation you are placed into. Most of the other same level associates are down to earth people.

Cons

Promotes false sense of employees buying into their "corporate culture". Upper management praises how beloved the company was by the employees - however, most of the lowel level grunts hated the job when I worked there in 2006. I was told that I was on the fast track to management, the carrot was dangled over my head several times until eventually being pulled out completely and they found a way to weed me out. Handed in my immediate resignation, they talked me into staying to pull more knowledge out of me and let me go. If you are smart, run the opposite way of this downtrodden beast.

Pros

The front line management are great. Very available, and receptive. The salary would be good if they paid for holidays, any time off or benefits. Project is great.

Cons

Teksystems initial salary offer does not include ANY days off, or benefits. They don't tell you this when they make an offer. I found out after the fact when I was signing the contract - after I had turned down other companies. No holidays, sick leave, vacation or benefits - all are paid for by employee separately. The benefits they offer are very expensive, and the bottom rung. All of us here can't wait for Teksystems to lose the contract - but according to the confidentiality agreement, we can't work for ANY company at this agency for 6 months after we leave Teksystems - even if they lay off.

Pros

Good on-boarding and training program, good bonuses and commission structure, benefits are offered but expensive, most people in the company are young and money hungry which can promote healthy competition among recruiters and account managers.

Cons

You are expected to have a "servant mentality" (their words, not mine) to the company, your clients and consultants. You are expected to work overtime every day (your on salary, so no extra pay) and they constantly remind you that you should be working nights and weekends from home. So, basically no work or life balance. The company's retention rate is poor across the board and if you are a successful recruiter your only option is to become an account manager and start over again and you actually take a pay cut just to be promoted. Their company culture is a joke, senior management expects too much and rewards recruiters with too little. Your job is essentially to source and find the top technical professionals in the world and get them to do a job for as little as possible, which TEK charges double that rate to the company to hire that person - so the only person that wins is TEK. It's a very profitable business model, but not one you can stand by if you actually have morales.
