Pros

-availability: For a college student like myself, my schedule often changes, and the managers never had a problem with that.

Cons

-wages: The managers try so hard to not give you a good raise. They will find a problem with what you do, just so you can get less than what you actually deserve. -favoritism: Being that I was the only black in a Hispanic and Latino environment, you can say they treated me like crap, and the customers noticed it.

Pros

if the managers are cool you can create a nice little family with your other associates. If the managers like you its easy to move up. Great if you like a fast pace environment. If you are good at soliciting credit cards they will move you up fairly fast

Cons

Mangers play favorites. Raises are only once a year and its impossible to get more than 30 cents. Part time is only guaranteed 10-15 hours. I worked as full time and was not allowed to get 40 hours. They will send you home before you can reach it. If the managers don't like you then you have no chance of moving up even if you are a hard worker and ask. I have witnessed them hand an upper level position to someone and then hire a new person and give it to them instead. Possibility of getting scheduled for alot of close and then open the next day kind of shifts, depending on what positions you take within the store. Benefits take so much money out of your checks and working on minimum wage if you get sick its practically impossible to copay at the doctors. i was forced to cancel mine because they were basically pointless

Pros

The managers were helpful and attentive to problems. They were effective managers and were always positive. Generally there was an opportunity to gain more work hours.

Cons

There is definitely a disjunct between lower and store management. I submitted multiple suggestions to improve safety standards and efficiency. I was praised but when the solutions were actually implemented, other associates were upset that it changed their normal routine. The managers preferred to keep everyone happy than to update their store.
