Off weekends. Decent starting salary

Basically everything else. I enjoyed the week long training in Des Moines. Did I gain much from it having been in logistics for 7 years? Not really. But it was a good introduction to the company itself, (which I'm sure on the asset side truly is great). They sold it to be a great place to work (again, I'm sure some branches it is) but once I began working in the Bentonville office, it was clear fairly early on I didn't buy what they were selling. I'd bought a lemon and I wanted to take it back.

Pros

Great training program for new drivers, % of load pay was increased to 34%, nice trucks, can make a decent amount of money if you work hard and have a fm that gives you good loads

Cons

Governor set at 62 mph and insurance doesn't pay for ADHD meds or any mental health issues, have to keep truck white glove clean for inspection when you have service at the terminal

Pros

Good Fleet Managers. Great pay for no experience and starting in OTR. Choice of Percentage or CPM Orientation and Training is 7 weeks, but it is the best in the industry. Home every weekend if desired. 2 Retirement Plans, 401k, and ESOP

Cons

Expect to work at least 14 hours a day. Detention Pay, don't expect to see anything till after a year of employment. Salary, maximizes after about 7-8 months. Only way to make more money is to stay out most weekends, or become a trainer (currently expect only 1-2 trainees a year at 5 weeks at a time). Also getting a position with Specialized or the Boat Division.
