Pros

You get your teaching license in less than a year. You make full teacher salary. My contact person always responded promptly and knew who I needed to go to if she couldn't answer my question.

Cons

You are completely thrown to the wolves. There's little organization when I comes to summer training (they say they have now addressed this) I was only ever visited when I was being observed.

Pros

Professional and skilled teachers model correct teaching practices and have helped me to practice them. The teacher development coaching that TNTP provides has helped me to pinpoint specific areas in my teaching where I can be better and has helped me to improve so much more than I could have by myself. All employees are results-oriented and constantly striving for improvement.

Cons

Sometimes the assignments and extra work is tedious, which makes being a first-year teacher even more difficult. I also felt that at times much of the staff was impersonal and distant.
