Pros

Good salary. Intensive learning. Great opportunity of job hopping.

Cons

Night shifts are impossible to bear. Managers are mean. Not a safe place to give opinions or even have chitchats. If you want to live like a robot, TSMC must be a good place to go. No feelings, no family, no friends and of course, no complaints. I don't know if it was just me, but my supervisor was being weird when I talk about my gay partner. He gave one of those looks as if it was something shameful and shall not be shared in public.

Cons

Manager will micro control every minute of your daily time spend. It’s not a safe environment to give out opinions and suggestions. Even taking vacation will impact your performance review

Pros

Great opportunities for growth in the future as more fabs will be constructed in northern Phoenix AZ. Great pay with good start up bonuses.

Cons

Requires hard work and dedication. Greater than 95% of upper managers are Taiwanese which make it hard to change the work culture. There’s a daily Operations meeting that puts managers and workers against each other. Very hostile and backstabbing highlight work environment. Many works contractors and employees were brought with travel visas and are being asked to work. The safety environment can use an improvement. Many contractors are noticed on site without fall protection climbing over pipes and equipment, noticed without PPE and without working procedures. The fab also lacks a good emergency response team. It takes roughly an hour to get medical attention to someone hurt out in the field.
