      Great benefits, overall nice people to work with

      Sr Management that refuses to address company issues. New management that does not understand the industry. Old management that is arrogant.

      Pros

      The insurance and retirement is awesome. Occasional company cookouts. A safety allowance every year. Competitive pay.

      Cons

      There are serious favoritism and retaliation issues at the North Augusta plant. The promoting of relatives and friends has spiraled out of control. I've noticed that an employees potential, work ethics, and experience come in second versus a relative. The most important rule to remember here... Don't ask questions about concerns or anything in general for that matter. You will be retaliated on. Get your 30 years and get out on the first train smokin'.

      Pros

      Good pay, benefits, downtown location, railroad retirement and a 401k. Very stable business. If you can get in and survive, the economic ups and downs are muted. Low occurrence of layoffs, but up side is limited. Head Quarters has fairly good diversity.

      Cons

      Long brutal hours, unrealistic deadlines. Frequent travel. There was a team culture where folks looked out for each other, now everyone is out for themselves due to the pay and bonus structure. Sr. Leaders are not "people persons" and very little respect for work / life balance. Some of the other reviews are pretty fair.
