Pros

Working at Tableau Software is an incredible opportunity to collaborate with sharp, excited employees to solve some of the most pressing problems of our time. The mission is clear and resonates with the whole company. Since Tableau is growing so quickly -- fueled by real earnings -- it is a place where everyone can grow and succeed (not a zero-sum game like many large software companies). You will learn a great deal on the job and you can see the impact that your work makes on the company. With customers constantly singing our praises, there's no shortage of validation to keep you motivated. Tableau Software is truly a special company.

Cons

Tableau Software is not a place for people who are cynical, jaded or lazy. Employees are enthusiastic, eager to collaborate and hard working, and we expect the same of everyone who works here. Be mindful of your work / life balance though, because the mission that drives this company to execute so well can sometimes be so engaging that it displaces the necessary, healthy balance of other sources of fulfillment in life.

Pros

in past years it used to be a sweet office. no management interfering with your daily routine and you can do whatever you want, basically. still the same, but then nothing gets done and quality of work sucks. pay reflects this work.

Cons

Some people need management. With no managers nothing gets done. Yeah its nice to not be pushed to have more productivity but on a team of slackers it gets depressing. I did not have to try to be a top performer, i just did work. Now everyone realizes pay is 50% of market rate in support and they are announcing promotions that DID NOT HAPPEN. Management blames upper management and we never get an answer for why people are stuck in entry level work and why people are leaving for double-triple the pay elsewhere.

Pros

The people. The only thing I miss are the people.

Cons

Operations management is atrocious. I stayed for the benefits, but my current employer pays better and has better benefits. The location is pretty, but traffic was awful. I have never been treated so poorly by a management team, or seen such a lack of professionalism. We were required to work long hours for end of quarter and I found myself burnt out in under a year. When I began seeking other employment I realized how over worked and under paid I was. They make the benefits package seem like it will make up for the under average salaries, however my benefits are better now and I make more money, have better benefits and actually see my family.
