Pros

There's always something to do so you won't be complaining there isn't any work. Its good they have a cafe on site, because there isn't much around the area.

Cons

This has to be the worst company I have ever worked for. Management are all over the place, with constant changes, lack of direction and a culture of blame. There are so many people trying to do the same thing at once no one knows who is taking responsibility. IT systems are poor, outdated and slow. GM's and other senior leaders take no accountability for anything, speak poorly to staff and some even shout at other staff members. I've seen people in tears in the office because they are so overworked, and don't have the resources to do their jobs. Meetings are full of people who speak loads of buzzwords and catch phrases, and you often come out wondering what the point of the meeting was. The turn over is ridiculously high with all my colleagues frequently talking about wanting to leave and desperately trying to find another job. HR are rumoured to do some very immoral things to try and make people resign if they need to cut head count.

Pros

No pros at all, horrible workplace

Cons

Poor Management Micro Management Failure to Keep Promises Zero Consultation with Staff regarding changes Promised that I would receive a bonus and they now claim it was a mistake Spent years working for other opportunities in the company - not only did they do nothing, they deleted all the years of work on my file that I had been working with towards a change in work and shrugged their shoulders and said "start again" Changing Head Office from Williams Landing to the other side of Melbourne and basically sticking two fingers up to anyone from the West, some who have worked there for over 25 years First 4 years of my time there was fine, then they combined the management of Kmart and Target. It was really a Kmart take-over, with a toxic management style taking no account of the views of the Target team. I have never in my life been in a team which has gone from such a positive and co-operative team to one of being totally beaten down, depressed and desperate to get out. Took 5 weeks of sick leave for stress and the Kmart management never once reached out. In fact when I went in to pack up my desk (I resigned as it was so toxic) they couldn't even bring themselves to talk to me one on one, just pretended they were busy at their desk. When I resigned, at the end of my time I was told I would be due for the annual bonus, even though the terms and conditions stated that I was leaving one week before I would be eligible for the payout. I questioned this and was ASSURED I would still be getting it. Then they never paid it and in the last email from them they even lied, saying that P&C were not told I was leaving (yet they had closed all my accounts and paid me out my holiday pay owing the next day). The Kmart management team are deaf to the staff and have no people skills. At a major meeting on a day when many people were hearing if they had a future in the restructure, one of the Heads of Department was talking and laughing at the start of the meeting about his guitar collection and next overseas holiday. Whatever you do, do not work at this toxic, vile workplace with the worst management I have ever experienced in 40 years' of working (including being in management myself in the past).

Pros

I liked working there for the relaxed working environment and flexibility in schedule.

Cons

Didn't appreciate the negative atmosphere from some managers and security who wanted me to be a security guard rather than actually doing my job.
