Pros

salary and ethos are good. Customer 1st is good focus. There is now a good future direction for brand, but a lot of pressure is put on teams by ceo. The products are good and service is seeing a good turn-around due to recent initiatives. Yet to see if trend will continue as most of the time service just dies a slow death or TSSO runs out of budget to continue the team momentum.

Cons

red tape. New ideas don't even get looked at. There is never a budget to do things and you are never allowed to talk openly to senior management. Teams in head office work extremely long hours - especially in opps yet never get any thanks or recognition.Staff turnaround in TSSO is also very bad.

Pros

Coworkers are generally nice and friendly to talk to, they will be what makes it worth coming into work. As with most retail jobs, good pay rate as a casual for the work that you do.

Cons

Management can be very disorganised, but this differs store to store. Management of a store can often be pressured to reach ever higher sales goals, which is then put upon staff members, really unhealthy working environment. As you get older, the amount of shifts you get becomes worse and worse, and some weeks you'll receive none, you're not at all valued as an employee or person. Marketing position is amorphous at the moment, they want to be like Myers when their target market is more similar to Kmart, and so they occupy a sort of no-man's land and don't appeal to anybody.

Pros

Really laid back, most of the management is pretty relaxed and we can get away with a lot. Often doesn't feel like a job at all. Love working with the rest of the team.

Cons

Unpredictable shifts if you're a casual, management is continuously changing and store managers are transferred every month or so, if the store doesn't make budget our shifts are cancelled or cut. Can be hard to get time off.
