Pros

-Good Products -Guests enjoy shopping at Target -Decent Employee Discount (10%) with specific months during which you get and extra 10% off of Target Brand merchandise -Ability to work during different times of the day...open/ mid shift/ close -Usually able to take off if you give enough notice (As long as it is only for a day or two and it isn't october, november,or december) -Decent pay compared to other retailers if you work in production. -They provide food for employees for key holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving, "Green" Friday) -In my department if you came in as seasonal and did a good job there was a 95% chance that Target would hire you permanently -Whether you work very hard or wander around and do hardly anything you still get the same paycheck. Performance doesn't matter. Great job for someone who wants to party all night and come to work and walk around like a zombie

Cons

-Senior management gives no recognition -Senior management could care less how hard you work or how much pride you have in your job -Senior management is very unprofessional- discuss team members with other team members without discussing the problem with the team member they have an issue with. -Senior management argues with senior team leads in front of guests -No seniority or preference is given to team members who have proven there dedication to there jobs. For example: New team members come in and get more hours and better shifts then those team members that have already been working there (and working hard) for over a year. (Very few people make it past 6 months at Target. If someone stays a year it is impresive) -They promise you will get every other weekend off when they hire you but then they rarely give you any weekends off at all and if you do get one off you have to request it 3 weeks to a month in advance and if your Team Lead is off that weekend (They are the only ones that get every other weekend off) then forget about requesting off. -Management spends to much time standing around talking to each other (about non work realted subjects) and then they will come and reprimand the team memebers for talking to each other to much. Very hypocritical. -Team Member satisfation surveys are basically ignored. -VERY difficult to get any type of promotion no matter how hard you work. -Training is terrible. I taught myself most of the aspects of my job -Some Team Leads think they are above there team members and that they shouldn't have to do anything. They expect the Team members to take on the team lead responsibilities and the team member responsibilities -Team Leads spend to much time wondering around worrying about other peoples departments and not enough time doing anything productive (There are some exceptions to this)

Pros

enjoyable coworkers, good exercise while working

Cons

Store management is young and inexperienced. Feedback is encouraged and then is largely ignored, or later even cited against you as being negatie. And the pay, the pay is lousy. Seriously, you really can make mor money working at McDonalds.
