Pros

It isnt all too bad, they are fairly flexible when it comes to hours, which is nice for me being a college kid

Cons

little opportunity for promotion within, dealing with customers or "guests" can be a hassle, management often expects you to do more than what is in your job description

Pros

The company culture is inspiring. They work to achieve a model similar to that of Disney. Target works to build a "Fast, Fun and Friendly" work environment.

Cons

I often felt that as a cashier my position was not well respected with upper management. Granted I was young and inexperienced but motivation and recognition should not vary among any level of the organization.

Pros

Leadership and developmental programs available to those who want to promote. Good benefits and vacation programs. Yearly merit increase based on performance

Cons

Executive (senior management) is often hired straight out of college with no retail experience. Many of them are not willing to learn the groundwork which makes it difficult for the lower management staff and team members. Can not promote above team leader in your store.
