Pros

Benefit package and merch discounts are a big plus

Cons

The actual VM store position is mostly stock and freight. Very little “visual merchandising” at all. The position responsibilities are all over the board and apparently subjective store to store. The store I trained in had a completely different role for their VM than my store. No real chance to improve the look, style of the store, regardless of the job description. I never would have interviewed for it, had I known what the job actually was. Management not interested in ideas, concerns or suggestions.
