The company follows a bench concept, and I was on the bench for more than 9 months.
Being on the bench initially feels comfortable, but staying there for a long time becomes stressful and demotivating.
Observations & Concerns:
Senior management is good, but the PMG (Project Management Group) did not effectively support employees on the bench.
The primary responsibility of the PMG team should be:
Finding suitable project matches for benched employees
Arranging relevant interviews
Deploying employees once the profile matches
Unfortunately, this process did not work properly during my entire bench period.
Specific Issues Observed
When I was released from my project, the company hired two new employees with the same skill set in the same month, instead of allocating me to a suitable role.
Only one interview was arranged for me, and that too was for a pure Azure role requiring 5+ years of experience, which did not match my profile.
I am a .NET Full Stack Developer with Azure experience, so the requirement was not aligned.
One day before my Last Working Day, I noticed a Naukri job posting from the same company for a .NET Full Stack Developer with Azure, which matched my profile perfectly.
I raised this concern with the PMG team and requested internal profile verification before hiring externally.
The response was unclear, and no follow-up action was taken.
Final Feedback
If the PMG team handles bench resources more efficiently, the company can:
Reduce long bench periods
Save hiring and onboarding costs
Retain skilled internal employees
