Pros

Cool work environment, great people, great health care benefits, solid work perks (cake and beer friday's, guest speakers, great holiday parties, day of good opportunities, etc), family focused, work life balance is better than any other agency.

Cons

Pay could be more competitive with other agencies, no true direction for developing internal talent, lots of turnover with jr level staff, once you hit your ceiling where do you go?

A double-edged sword...

Pros

It truly is the best agency to work at for work/life balance. For those who are further along in their advertising career, this is a great place to call home. Everyone (for the most part) is incredibly nice. There is rarely any yelling and conflicts are handled maturely.

Cons

With the great work/life balance comes a unique set of challenges. Staff can become complacent, entitled and disinterested in pushing creative, the client, process or themselves. While 'nice' is nice, it also comes at a cost. Conversations are avoided. People avoid conflict resolution as they know they will need to have an open discussion with the appropriate people. The agency can tend to avoid conflict as well as go the path of least resistance - be it with clients, particular projects or staff. Promotions and raises can be difficult to come by. There are many layers of approval and this has resulted in a detailed process that can seem unwieldy at times. It will become harder to maintain good staff when they can easily hop to another agency, getting that title and/or salary bump they are asking for. With millennial's becoming a larger part of the work place, their short attention span and constant need for affirmation and reward will be a struggle for both them and for Team One - they aren't suited for each other.
