Pros

Tektronix had a great history and reputation in the Portland area and the high tech industry. Benefits very generous, employees collegial, most middle managers good to work for, only a few exceptions. Very nice campus, many buildings remodeled.

Cons

Things never really improved after senior leadership changed in the early 2000's. Some communication improved, but decision-making and support of strategies in human resources was horrendous due to the inability to select an executive who would either stay, was qualified, or actually knew anything about the function. Really a shame - in a way the function that should have been most supportive of employee relations ended up imploding on itself.

Pros

The pay is good, and the benefits are average. Co-workers are really nice, but a majority of the personnel are aging, however this gives room for upward mobility as people retire from long held positions

Cons

The staff are mostly set in their ways and with a recent buyout by Danaher there is plenty of good old days syndrome to go around.
