      Manufacturing Software Engineer

      Pros

      Interesting software, interesting products. The team that remains in Beaverton was a top notch group of Engineers. They were/are very bright and talented. The team produced a number of unique and valuable tools to support the manufacturing process and the quality control of the manufactured devices.

      Cons

      It was difficult to help transition a big chunk of the manufacturing software engineering jobs to Shanghai China. However, those who lost their jobs were treated fairly and equitably.

      Pros

      Stay busy - day goes by quicly.

      Cons

      NO opportunity for advancement, abysmal attitude towards "professional development", always asked to do more and more work in less time. Management only focuses on 'hitting the numbers' instead of developing / growing the workforce. Just learned that attrition rate for individuals with 1-3 years tenure is close to 40%

      3.5 Stars, but with issues

      Pros

      The Benefits are better than the average. Trying, trying, trying to service the customer better, still need work. Techs are fine to work with, but lack drive. Seem to have the equipment needed for the job. Company will assist in professional calibration certifications. Pretty easy going environment. Free coffee.

      Cons

      Older employees have bulls-eye on back. Management is too bog down in their mangers high-level business lingo to see or fix problems. Not allowed to think outside of box to maximize assets and resources. Not a long term job. only 1 person with 5 or more years. Head office is a bottleneck to productivity.
