Some good, some improvement needed

Pros

Good compensation, flexible (some work from home options), community involvement, nice campus.

Cons

Tek was bought by a parent company, Danaher, four years ago. Since then, the culture has taken a hit and many long time Tek employees have opted for the early retirement . The company is focused on numbers and metrics, with the value on experienced competent employee's taking a hit. Workforce very slim with employees that are remaining not able to obtain a good work/life balance.

Pros

There are still people who work at Tektronix and also understand the Test and Measurement markets. Benefits are ho-hum, but not as bad as others.

Cons

Tektronix had been sliding downhill before the Danaher acquisition, due to the actions of the greedy stuffed shirts in charge of the purse strings. After the acqutisition....well,...Danaher *is* an investment company after all, regardless of how they like to be perceived as a technology innovator. They won't put money into anything that doesn't guarantee a high return within 1-3 years. Sweatshop-like work conditions. Cowardly upper level management who don't understand their own product and business. Yearly layoffs. Too many buzz-word concepts driving management such as "employees with lots of LOS are overpaid and inflexible, hire the new breed", and "it's always cheaper to outsource". Lots of free travel miles for upper-level management, rather than teleconferences, but anybody below 2nd level management is denied reasonable travel. Previous CEO Amir destroyed all employee confidence with just four words "Just get over it".
