Pros

Incredibly nice employees that are very intelligent and action-oriented. Managers are usually very down to earth. Decent pay. Benefits are on par with comparable Medical Device companies.

Cons

Almost no promotion scope. HR is non-existent. Academic assistance is shabby. R&D does not engage in new product development, it is mostly sustaining Engineering. Teleflex expects its R&D Engineers to go beyond what is required of their position. This is great if you are looking to learn, but it can seem like being thrown in to an open fire.

Thanks for writing a review. You are spot on that our employees are smart and work hard. Promotions are challenging at the middle manager levels because people are staying with us, which attests to our retention. All of the recent promotions at the top of the company have been from within, which is always our goal. Our tuition assistance meets the benchmarks of most companies at $5250 a year. Teleflex is investing in R&D; it's one of our growth goals for the company. We're proud that Teleflex introduced 16 new products and line extensions in 2014, and 43 new products and line extensions since 2013.

Pros

I love working in IT. While the company is striving to unite it's businesses and departments through common Core Values, the IT department, commits at a whole other level. There are plenty of opportunities to have fun at work or at an IT social.

Cons

Having grown so much through acquisition, rationalizing systems through such a large and geographically diverse organization is daunting. The CEO, Benson Smith, has done wonders for the stock, but is stuck in the dark ages on such topics as remote working, realistic perspective of diversity in leadership, and transparency with the average coworker.

Thanks for your comment. Our IT function really is great. Benson Smith does listen to the workforce. He is highly visible in company meetings and open to dialogue in global town meetings. You may not agree with his answers but you can't fault him for hiding from the tough questions.

Pros

Really great employees to work with.

Cons

More work is being outsourced (both manufacturing and development) which translates domestic plant closings and leaving less to do for current technical staff at remaining facility's.
